I’m Dionne, founder of Bloom 253 Marketing. I’ve lived in the Tacoma area since before my daughter was born.At the time I’m writing this, she is 22 years old. Being a solo parent left me no choice but to be highly resourceful and consistently work to be seen online because our survival depended on it.
I couldn’t afford to think if something would work. Instead I had to find the how.
Handmade Children’s Clothing Boutique
For my first business as a solo parent, I launched an online boutique children’s clothing company. I sewed trendy, matching family outfits and sold them on eBay.I used what I already had: my sewing machine, my fabric stash, and my tenacity. And yes. My daughter was my model.
I learned about leveraging platforms, such as the community within the platform, to fit my goals.
Web Design & SEO Optimization
I’ve been a website designer since before Myspace was a thing. I’ve relied heavily on being visible online and I’ve seen firsthand what an SEO optimized website design can do, for my businesses and for my clients.
Since 2007, I’ve used WordPress to create and manage websites for my own brands and my clients. I’ve experimented with several different website platforms, but nothing has outperformed WordPress in long-term results. More than 72% of my website traffic has come from search engines without paying for ads.
A Videographer & Digital Content Creator That Gets You Seen
Alongside building and maintaining websites, I’ve worked as a video producer, digital content creator, video editor, video coach, and marketing strategist who knows how to be seen and share my skills to help my fellow entrepreneurs.
Sending digital content out into the world fascinates me, particularly seeing which pieces grab the most attention. It’s often not the ones I think it will be, but let’s let the data determine the strategy.
